Title: Design Architect
Location: Portland, Oregon

Job Description:

IDC Architects is currently seeking a Design Architect who will support the Laboratory and R&D Facility projects out of our Portland, Oregon office.

This is a key position which will work within a team to design science and technology focused projects, including research facilities, laboratories and critical environments, incorporating sustainable and high performance concepts. Additional responsibilities may include client and technical presentations and business development activities.

This position will report directly to the Principal Architect.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Passion for design and architecture
  • Excellent graphic communication skills, both freehand and digital
  • BA/BS in Architecture
  • Registered Architect
  • 6 years experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years experience
  • Lab and Research facility portfolio
  • Open minded with a commitment to balance architecture as both art and science
  • Thrives in a collaborative and team oriented work environment, which includes brainstorming, charettes, and rapid prototyping.

Title: Science and Technology Principal Architect
Location: Portland, Oregon

Job Description:

IDC Architects is currently seeking a Principal Architect who will support the Laboratory and R&D Facility projects out of our Portland, Oregon office.

This is a key leadership position which will have direct responsibility for design review, business development, strategic planning and staff development.

You will represent IDC Architects and cultivate current client relationships, as well as pursue new client and project opportunities in the laboratory and research market. Additional responsibilities will include leading multiple design teams within a multidisciplinary environment.

Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Description:

HVAC engineer and designer for projects including laboratories (vivariums), research facilities, universities and high tech facilities. General tasks will include conceptual design, code studies, engineering computations, space planning, developing P&ID's, ductwork/piping layout, material and equipment selection, and writing specifications. Ideal candidate will need to have a thorough understanding of the requirements of other engineering disciplines as well.

Position will also be responsible for management duties including business development, client presentations, developing project budgets and project staffing.

Qualifications:

  • 5-15 years experience
  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • PE registration encouraged
  • LEED certification a plus

Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer
Location: Portland, Oregon

Work in an integrated A/E team environment in CH2M HILL's Electronics and Advanced Technologies group. Specializing in mission critical environments such as data centers, R&D labs, and state of the art micro-electronics facilities, we are looking for a talented senior electrical engineer to work with our team of architects and engineers to develop and design some of the world's most advanced technology facilities.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Work as a lead electrical engineer on various projects working with the client, directing a team of electrical design staff, and managing the projects electrical scope, schedule and budget requirements
  • Program, develop and design electrical distribution systems
  • Provide services during construction
  • Provide design support to other disciplines as necessary
  • Support staff development and professional growth
  • Support Business Development

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years experience, PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in generator systems, UPS systems, medium voltage design, and highly reliable electrical distribution system topologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience working on mission critical facilities
  • Ability to develop white papers and prepare technical presentations
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering with power emphasis
