Equinix, Inc., is a premier data center and Internet exchange services provider for enterprise, content companies, and network service providers including General Electric, Google, Hotwire, IBM, MySpace.com, Microsoft, Sony Online, and Yahoo. We provided engineering services for this greenfield colocation data center facility.

The first floor of this three-story building houses an office and electrical/mechanical support space. The second and third floors are server areas with customer operation support space. In addition, this project includes a separate utility building that houses the central chiller plant to take advantage of decreased building construction costs. We designed full generator backup for servers and facility support systems. Electrical and mechanical systems are in a block redundant configuration for high reliability. Cooling for the server area is provided by custom RAH units with overhead supply systems. In addition, we designed the interior and exterior lighting system to integrate with and enhance the building's architecture, while the lighting controls integrate with the flexibility and functionality of the building's program.
