CH2M HILL Corporate Offices

Denver, Colorado, USA

The intent of this project was to bring together a region of CH2M HILL's employees onto one campus, which would consist of three original buildings totaling approximately 390,000 SF. Our scope for the project included the space planning, interior design and finishes, furniture selection, and architectural tenant improvement design.

One goal was to maximize the penetration of natural light into the floor space. This was achieved by centralizing the building's support functions into a longitudinal core, locating conference rooms adjacent to the central elevator vestibules, and laying out an office environment around the perimeter. Additionally, hard wall offices were restricted to the ends of the buildings and directly adjacent to the core. Clerestory windows were installed in these offices to allow natural light to penetrate into or transfer through the space. The strength of this organization was further enforced by the selection and implementation of color and interior finish materials.

The client also wished to create a more collaborative office environment, which we achieved by strategically locating casual meeting spaces within the office area and centrally locating the copy rooms and break rooms. The furniture selected enhanced the opportunity for impromptu meetings by providing comfortable chairs and sofas within the office area and marker board wall surfaces within the break rooms.

Each building received the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® Silver certification.
